Changes After Construction

  1. The mosque, which was ruined in the 1580s, was rebuilt by Mimar Sinan upon the order of Hacı Ahmed Pasha and he had his own tomb built in its courtyard while he was alive.

  2. It was renovated by Sultan Abdülmecid's third “İkbal” (the title given to the wife of the Sultan) Şayeste Kadınefendi in 1858-1859.

  3. During this repair, the building underwent significant changes and was renovated according to the architectural style of the 19th century.

  4. Only the marble gateway and the minaret base made of cut stone have preserved their originality.

  5. The cemetery on the qibla side of the mosque was moved around the tomb in 1911- 1912.

  • The walls of the mosque are made of masonry, and the roof is made of wood.

  • Two birdhouses were built on the wall on the Qibla side.

  • It has a single minaret and a single balcony.
