Cenderecizade Muhittin Çelebi is one of the important names of Ottoman finance. He served as the Anatolian Treasurer during the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror, and then as the Chief Treasurer during the reign of Bayezid II.
Muhittin Çelebi, who served at a time when the Ottoman financial system was institutionalized, made his contribution permanent with the school and tomb that bear his name.

The tomb is located in the large graveyard of the school in Süleymaniye. The structure, located on the left side of the entrance, has a simple and classical Ottoman tomb architecture. There is an inscription in two lines and two columns above the entrance door, and a marble information sign to the right.
There is only one coffin inside. The marble sarcophagus is covered with a green headscarf and decorated with a black turban. The inside of the dome is decorated with elegant hand-drawn works in harmony with the colors. There is a very large graveyard around the tomb and there are many historical gravestones and broken heads.
The marble fountain in the graveyard is decorated with baroque motifs and has the basmalah written on it. The tomb and its surroundings are protected by his descendants from the 7th generation.
It was restored between 1988 and 1991 by the Trustee Vahdettin Güver under the supervision of Master Architect Beyhan Erçak.
