Changes After Construction
The school building was named “Çengelköy Havuzbaşı Primary and Middle School” in 1901.
The school was named “28th School” in the following years.
The official boys' middle school in Beylerbeyi moved to the school building; consequently, the structure was used under the name “Beylerbeyi Boys' Model School.”
The school had the status of a five-grade co-educational school in 1923.
The campus gained a dining hall in 1914 and two more classrooms in 1935.
The school underwent various repairs in 1957, 1958, 1971, and 1975.
The school switched to a central heating system in 1975; a lodging adjacent to the boiler room was added.
Pre-school education began at the school in 1979 with a 70-square-meter pre-school education building.
The institution was included in the scope of eight-year education under the name “Çengelköy Primary Education School” in the 1993–1994 academic year.
The campus gained a kitchen, a parent-teacher association room, and a teachers' room in 2001.
Four classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, a library, and an infirmary were built on a 300-square-meter footprint in the 2004–2005 academic year.
The indoor sports hall was opened for the use of students in the 2015–2016 academic year.
The institution has been serving under the name “Çengelköy Primary School” since 2013.

The school building was constructed on land belonging to the palace with the support of the Çengelköy notables; those who contributed include Ahmet Sırrı Paşa, Arif Paşa, and Hacı Cemal Bey.
The school building was completed in 1897, and the campus possesses the character of a campus that has grown with additions in different periods.
