Changes After Construction
The entire complex was restored between 1959 and 1966.
It was restored again in 2014.
Featured Highlights
It is also known as Darü'l-Hadis Mosque and Nevşehirli Damat İbrahim Pasha Mosque.
The mosque has a square plan and a single dome. Its dome rises on an octagonal drum from the outside. The interior decorations are adorned with hand-drawn works.
The wooden entrance door has embossed floral decorations. The door frames have gilded muqarnas.
The floor is paved with hexagonal stones. The mihrab is pentagonal in shape and is decorated with flower motifs and hand-drawn works. On both sides of the mihrab are floral patterns such as tulips and hyacinths.
It has a single balcony and was added later; its date is unknown.
The mosque courtyard does not have a proper plan and there is an octagonal fountain in the middle. The fountain, which has a wooden roof, has been repaired recently.
The Darü'l-Hadis rooms, consisting of 13 rooms, surround the courtyard. Some of these rooms were used as libraries. The famous Istanbulite poet Nedim worked as a librarian here.
The graves of Damat Ibrahim Pasha and his relatives are located in the graveyard of the complex.
