Aya Dimitri Greek Orthodox Church
Changes After Construction:
- It was rebuilt in 1730 during the patriarchate of Patriarch Paisios II.
- It underwent repairs in 1933 and 1960.
- In the 1590s, the Patriarchate was transferred to the Aya Dimitri Church, and in 1612 it was moved to the Aya Yorgi Church in Fener.
- It was announced that façade restoration work was carried out on the church courtyard wall by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB Heritage).
Prominent Features:
- The church belongs to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Istanbul.
- The building is also known as the Ayios Dimitrios Kanunu Church.
- The building is situated within a courtyard behind high walls in Ayvansaray.
