The educational roots date back to 1936, originating from a 170-room wooden mansion located very close to the current school building.
Opened under the name Fatih Boys’ Secondary School, the school became insufficient due to the large number of students and was moved to its current building in 1959.
Prominent Features:
The educational institution, one of the first schools in the early Republican period serving only female students, was named Fatih Girls’ Secondary School in 1939.
Today, it continues educational activities as Fatih Girls’ Anatolian Imam Hatip High School.
The wooden mansion where the historic school began its educational activities belonged to Mustafa Asım (Mekkizade), the 100th Sheikh al-Islam of the Ottoman Empire.
Melihat Gülses and Türkan Şoray are among the famous alumni of the historic school.
