Ahmed Nazif Efendi, born in 1832, was an Ottoman scholar from Sinop.
The most prominent post in his career was Inspector of the Imperial Pious Foundations. The Inspectorate of the Imperial Pious Foundations was an important ilmiye-bureaucratic office concerned with the supervision of foundations and matters related to foundation cases. The inspection of tekke and zāwiya foundations, the follow-up of appointments of sheikhs and madrasa professors according to foundation conditions, land disputes between foundations, and the appeal processes of certain decisions fell within the field of this office.
Ahmed Nazif Efendi’s name also appears in the foundation deed process of the Sanasaryan Foundation, established in 1901. In a later supplementary record concerning the Sanasaryan Foundation, it is stated that the foundation deed was drawn up by the late es-Seyyid Ahmed Nazif Efendi, who was Inspector of the Imperial Pious Foundations at that time.
Ahmed Nazif Efendi died on 23 Safar 1323 (29 April 1905) and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.
