Ayşe Firdevs Hanım

Judging by her age at death, Ayşe Firdevs Hanım must have been born in 1875. She was the daughter of Said Bey, who served as governor of Kırşehir Sanjak.

Said Bey was one of the civil administrators who served in the administration of Kırşehir during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II. When the replacement of the governor of Kocaeli Sanjak was discussed in 1902, the Ministry of the Interior mentioned Said Bey, then governor of Kırşehir Sanjak, among the possible names for a mutual transfer, showing that he was serving in the administration of Kırşehir Sanjak in those years.

In the local historical account of the organization of Kırşehir Municipality, Said Bey’s period is also especially mentioned. According to this account, the municipal organization in Kırşehir was arranged during Said Bey’s term, and the first mayoral duty was carried out by Baktıroğlu Ziya Efendi.

No detailed information has been identified about Ayşe Firdevs Hanım’s life. She died on 18 Dhu al-Qa‘da 1322, corresponding to 25 January 1905, at the age of twenty-nine, and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.
