Epitaph

Cemal Bey

Alas, death! Visitor! Look, this place is the grave of my child Cemal. That jewel of virtue whom we entrusted to this dark earth lived twenty-six years; consumption destroyed him. His mother and father will weep forever for their son. His body rests in this grave, but I am certain that his soul found the Prophet he loved in Paradise. Whenever your path brings you to visit these places, send a Fatiha in his name for the sake of Allah.

Ahmed Celaleddin Bey

A Fatiha for the soul of Ahmed Celaleddin Bey, Director of the Central Transfer Office of the Tax Department, son of Nafiz Bey, one of the officials of the Public Debt Administration, and grandson of Hacı İhsan Bey, former mayor of Beyoğlu Municipality, and Said Bey, former governor of Çatalca Sanjak. 3 May 1913.

A Fatiha for his/her soul
