Epitaph
He is the Living, the Eternal. Ah! The owner of this grave is Faid Bey, noble son of protocol official İbrahim Bey. Like a rose withered by a storm, he fell to the dark earth while still young. Together with locals and foreigners seeking a cure for his illness, the surgical blades wept blood for his wound. May Allah make his pure soul a neighbor to the family of our Prophet. 9 August 1901. Written by Üsküdarlı Mehmed Rif‘at, son of Mısrîzade.
