Fatma Nimet Hanım was born in March 1885 as the daughter of Kolonyalı Reşid Paşa. She was the wife of Aynîzâde Hasan Tahsin Bey, a statesman and educator from Serfiçe.
Hasan Tahsin Bey graduated from the Mekteb-i Mülkiye and served in the Ministry of Education. He became the founding principal of Kabataş Erkek Lisesi and later taught economics at the Mekteb-i Mülkiye and the Law School. In 1915 he was appointed Undersecretary of Finance.
During the First World War, Hasan Tahsin Bey stood at the centre of the Ottoman finance bureaucracy. He also wrote and translated works on economics and sociology, contributing to the intellectual climate of the late Ottoman period.
Fatma Nimet Hanım died on 3 October 1918 and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.
