  • Born in 1300 in the Hijri calendar (1882), Fehime Züleyha Hanım was the daughter of Ferik Sa‘deddin Paşa, one of the sultan’s aides-de-camp.

  • Ferik Sa‘deddin Paşa, known as the commander of the İzmit Redif forces and among the military officials of the aide-de-camp class during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II, was assigned in 1896 to inspect the Armenian incidents and assess military measures, and he personally submitted a report to the sultan.

  • Fehime Züleyha Hanım’s grandfather, Çerkez Hafız Mehmed Paşa, was also a statesman trained in the Enderun, who served in various governorships, acted as deputy serasker, and chaired the Commission for Immigrants.

  • According to her inscription, Fehime Züleyha Hanım was the wife of İsmail Hakkı Bey, one of the clerks of the Mabeyn-i Hümâyun. During the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II, the Mabeyn-i Hümâyun became one of the important institutions in the Yıldız Palace- entered administrative system, forming the sultan’s close working circle.

  • Fehime Züleyha Hanım died in 1317 in the Hijri calendar (1899), when she was only 17, and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.

Epitaph

He is the Living, the Eternal. This is the grave of Fehime Züleyha (Zeliha) Hanım, daughter of General Sadeddin Paşa, aide-de-camp to the sultan and head of the First Section of the General Staff Accounting Office, and wife of İsmail Hakkı Bey, one of the clerks responsible for correspondence in the Imperial Palace Secretariat.
