Galib Ağa, whose date of birth has not been identified, was one of the aghas of the Imperial Harem in the service of Sultan Abdülaziz. Since his date of death corresponds to 1858, he carried out this service when Abdülaziz was still a prince, before he became sultan. Abdülaziz ascended the throne on 25 June 1861 after the death of his elder brother Sultan Abdülmecid.
The office of agha of the Imperial Harem, which Galib Ağa held for many years, involved services connected with the harem department in the internal organization of the palace.
Galib Ağa died on 1 Dhu al-Hijja 1274, corresponding to 13 July 1858, and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.

He is the Eternal. O community of Muhammad, do not merely look and pass by; this is my request. The dead expects only a Fatiha from the living. O community of the Messenger who visit my grave! Whoever grants us a Fatiha will find Paradise. A Fatiha for the soul of Galib Ağa, one of the harem aghas of His Excellency Sultan Abdülaziz Efendi, a man of state and nobility, who attained Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. 13 July 1858.
