Epitaph
Hû. He possessed knowledge and virtue and served religion. In every state he was marked by asceticism and piety. He devoted all his time in Bayezid to the spread of learning. His students became known by benefiting from his spiritual instruction. He had been granted the title of mukarrir, assistant professor. He also held the highest rank, the Istanbul paye. Alas! Since even Luqman the Wise could not escape death, this angel-natured man too drank the sherbet of fate. His soul flew to the highest levels of Paradise. Attaining Allah’s mercy was his greatest wish, and he gave his life for it. May Allah bring him to the mystery of "Enter My Paradise!" for Allah promised to show Paradise and His beauty to the sincere. The poet Vasıf wrote a complete chronogram with a Fatiha: "May Allah forgive His servant Hacı Mehmed Hulusi!" Year 1894.
