Hacı Ömer Nusret Paşa

Hacı Ömer Nusret Paşa, whose date of birth could not be determined, was one of the soldiers of mirliva rank who served in the supply organization of the Ottoman army.

Mirliva was the rank between miralay and ferik in the Ottoman military hierarchy and marked the beginning of the title of paşa; today it corresponds to the level of brigadier general.

Ömer Nusret Paşa served as president of the Inspection Commission of the Military Supplies Department. Levazımat-ı Askeriyye was the Ottoman institution concerned with procuring the army’s clothing, cloth, equipment and various military needs.

Mirliva Hacı Ömer Nusret Paşa died on Sunday, 4 Shawwal 1322 / 28 November 1320 in the Rumi calendar (11 December 1904), and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.
