Epitaph
"Every soul shall taste death." (Ankabut 57) Alas, the great teacher and scholar Halis Efendi, possessor of maturity and praiseworthy character, has passed from the bridge of this world. He was most virtuous and refined. He was the protector of students and the leader of scholars. In the Council of Examination he resolved difficulties. He was the scholar of his age and later became ders vekili. His work was sincere service to religion and nation. May Almighty Allah make his soul happy through His grace.
