Hüseyin Rüşdî Efendi, whose date of birth could not be determined, was one of the late Ottoman state officials who served as a member of the Mahkeme-i Temyiz in the Ottoman judicial organization.
The Mahkeme-i Temyiz was the high court that served as the upper judicial authority for the nizamiye courts in the Ottoman judiciary. Established in 1868 under the name Dîvân-ı Ahkâm-ı Adliye, this institution took the name Mahkeme-i Temyiz with the regulation of 18 June 1879 and continued in the Republican period as the Court of Cassation.
Hüseyin Rüşdî Efendi died in the years 1316 in the Hijri calendar (1898) and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.
The gravestone of Hüseyin Rüşdî Efendi bears the signature of Mısrîzâde Ali Rıza. Mısrîzâde Ali Rıza Efendi, a skilled calligrapher in ta‘lik script, was the son of Seyyid Mehmed Rif‘at Mısrî and wrote many gravestone inscriptions in different cemeteries of Istanbul.
