  • El-Hâc Mehmed Sıdkı Efendi, whose date of birth has not been identified, belonged to the circle of migrant scholars who came from the Batum region to Ottoman lands after the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878.

  • Hacı Mehmed Sıdkı Efendi was one of the mudarrises of the Fatih Madrasa and at one time served as imam in Maden Köy near İnegöl. He found the Koca Köprü Deresi valley suitable for the settlement of his fellow migrants and directed migrants from Maçahel, then attached to Batum, to this area, leading to the foundation of Hayriye Village.

  • Mehmed Sıdkı Efendi later came to Dersaadet for a visit. He died in Istanbul on 8 Shawwal 1330, corresponding to 20 September 1912, and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.

He is the Creator, the Eternal. This is the grave of the virtuous Hacı Mehmed Sıdki Efendi, one of the Batum immigrants, madrasa professors and men of virtue, who lived in Hayriye village of İnegöl district, which he himself had founded, and died when he came to Istanbul for a visit. A Fatiha for his soul. 20 September 1912.
