For seventy-seven years in Zincirlikapı Üçbaş Madrasa, he chose the “gûşe-i vahdet,” that is, a life of retreat away from the crowds of the world, and occupied himself with asceticism, worship and spiritual struggle.
Üçbaş Madrasa was built together with Üçbaş Mescid near Karagümrük in 937 in the Hijri calendar (1530-1531). It is one of the first known structures built by Mimar Sinan in Istanbul.
Kırımî el-Hac Musa Safvetî Efendi died on Monday, 30 Ramadan 1318 (21 January 1901), and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.

He is the Eternal. A Fatiha for the soul of Kırımlı Hacı Musa Safveti Efendi, who for seventy-seven years had withdrawn into the corner of unity at Üçbaş Medresesi in Zincirlikapı near Fatih, among the strivers who attained Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. Monday, 21 January 1901.
