Mustafa Kamil Efendi

Mustafa Kâmil Efendi, whose date of birth has not been identified, was the son of Hüseyin Efendi. He served in the Ottoman army with the rank of captain and commanded the 2nd Company of the 11th Cavalry Regiment attached to the Second Army cavalry organization in Edirne.

Cavalry units were among the military branches that provided the army with rapid movement, reconnaissance and communication capabilities. As a company commander, Mustafa Kâmil Efendi was directly involved in field command and military administration.

Mustafa Kâmil Efendi died on 6 May 1329, corresponding to 19 May 1913, and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery. His date of death coincides with the days when the Balkan War directly affected Edirne and its surroundings.
