Şeyh Mehmed Efendi

Ispartalı Şeyh Mehmed Efendi, whose date of birth has not been identified, was one of the Sufi sheikhs buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.

Remembered together with figures such as Ahmed Amiş Efendi, Tokadî Mustafa Hâkî Efendi, Sandıklı Şeyhi Mehmed Efendi and Ahmed Tâhir Memiş Efendi, Ispartalı Mehmed Efendi represents the side of the cemetery that also hosts sheikhs who had a place in Istanbul’s Sufi circles.

No definite record has been identified concerning the order, lodge or family to which Ispartalı Şeyh Mehmed Efendi belonged. He died in 1901 and was buried in the Fatih Mosque Cemetery.
