Sinan Paşa Madrasa
Changes After Construction:
- There are photo/documentation albums indicating that restoration work was carried out in 1959 and 1961
- Restoration work has been carried out since 2010; interventions have been made to components such as the foundation, dome, lead cladding, and fountain.
- Today, the structure is considered to be in civilian use.
Prominent Features:
- It is also known as the Koca Sinan Pasha Madrasa and the Koca Sinan Pasha Complex Madrasa.
- The madrasa is part of a complex consisting of a tomb and a fountain; the cemetery is also located within the complex.
- The madrasa has the characteristics of a dârülhadis (school of hadith).
- In its plan, which surrounds a rectangular inner courtyard on all four sides, there is a classroom and 16 cells arranged asymmetrically.
- The classroom has a square plan; it has a dome with an octagonal drum and pendentives.
- In front of the cells is a portico covered with 18 small domes; in the middle of the courtyard is a fountain with eight columns.
- The building complex is constructed of cut stone; a fountain is placed at the corner of the perimeter wall.
