Fatma Hanım Sultan is the daughter of Kaya Sultan, the daughter of Murad IV, and Melek Ahmed Paşa. During her birth, her mother Kaya Sultan passed away in her mansion in Eyüp.
He died in the palace he inherited from his mother in 1727, at the age of 68. Although there is not much information about his life in Ottoman sources, there are details about his family in Evliya Çelebi’s notes.
It is stated that Fatma Hanım Sultan was moved from the mansion in Eyüp to the tomb in Hagia Sophia and buried there. Although her name is not mentioned in the Ottoman Sicill-i Osmanî (Ottoman Registry), the traces that have survived to the present day with her tomb reveal that she was an important figure in the dynasty.
