About the Person:
  • Fatma Şerife Hanım is the mother of Hacı Muhiddin Paşa, a retired Ferik rank holder (Corps General) from the Ministry of Factories. It is understood from the tomb inscription that she came from a noble family and carried the title of “Şerife”.
  • His son Muhiddin Paşa served as the Minister of Feshane-i Amire (Ministry in charge of the official clothing and uniforms) in 1894 and donated some of his personal belongings to the Feshane Museum.

Prominent Features:

  • The front facade is completely covered with marble.
  • The tomb was turned into an open tomb by being limited by walls taken from two tombs.
  • It is an open-topped structure accessed by four steps.
  • There are motifs of the Kelime-i Tevhid (“There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”) written on the iron gate and the windows of the mosque.
  • There are two marble coffins inside. The one on the right belongs to Fatma Şerife Hanım.
