Prominent Features:

- The Galata Sarayı tradition has been defined as a long-lasting school system within the Ottoman palace education system that trained candidates for the Enderun and for certain military/palace posts.
- In the 19th century, the institution, whose importance and function increased day by day, became a symbol of the Westernization period and Tanzimat practices in the Ottoman Empire.

- In 1968, on the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Mekteb-i Sultani, the then President of France, Charles de Gaulle, visited the high school.
