  • The school began its educational activities in the 1927-1928 academic year and produced its first graduates in 1932-1933.
  • At the time it opened, the school was known as “35th School / Kadıköy 35th Primary School”; in documents dated 1938 and 1940, it is observed that the school’s name changed to “Gazi School.”
  • In the 1992-1993 academic year, the school transitioned to “Boarding Primary School” status and continued in this status until the 2000-2001 academic year.
  • As of the 1997-1998 academic year, the 8-year education system was implemented; during this period, the phrase “Study and Nutrition” was used in the institution’s name.
  • The structure is evaluated in sources among the early Republican period school buildings that have survived to the present day while largely preserving their originality.
Prominent Features:
  • The structure has also been referred to by the names “Kadıköy 35th Primary School,” “Gazi School,” “Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha Primary School,” and “Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha Primary Education School.”
  • The building consists of three stories including the ground floor and is arranged in a U-shaped plan.
  • There is an entrance arrangement from the first floor on the east facade and from the ground floor on the rear facade; the corridor layout extends in a north-south direction, and the stairs are located to the north and south of the corridor.
  • A rectangular window arrangement is seen on the ground and first floors, while pointed-arched windows are seen on the second floor; a hipped roof with wide eaves was used.
  • The mass composition emphasized by projections on the entrance facade and monochromatic tile applications (blue on the front facade, green on the rear facade) are presented as distinguishing elements.
