Changes After Construction

  1. The structure, whose architect is unknown, is considered to have been built by the local masters of the period.

  2. It underwent an extensive restoration between 1882 and 1902.

  3. The structure, which had to be demolished because it was not earthquake-resistant, was reconstructed in 2024.

  • The structure was revived in accordance with its original form, reflecting the character of an 18th-century Ottoman neighborhood mosque with its brick walls and gable roof.

  • The structure, also known as “Kireçburnu Mosque,” was opened after restoration in 2025 by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
