Changes After Construction:
  • Between 1873 and 1993, the structure was used as the Darüşşafaka High School.
  • In the 1971-1972 academic year, a new building was constructed in a section of the garden and education was moved to this new building; the old building was turned into a museum.
  • With the school moving to its new campus in 1993, the structure remained out of use; in the following period, the building was allocated to the Ministry of National Education.
  • The structure was taken into renovation in 2008 as part of the preparations for reuse for school purposes; the restoration process began in 2010 and, according to institutional records, was completed in 2018.

  • The building was constructed in two sections with a layout where both female and male students could study and was completed in 1873.
