Changes After Construction:
  • The building was constructed in 1904 by the Agios Tryphon Society as a Greek primary school.
  • Also known historically as Taş Mektep (Stone School), the building continued to be used for educational purposes as a Turkish school in 1923.
  • After remaining unused for a long period in the second half of the 20th century, it was restored in 2012 and took its present form.
Prominent Features:
  • French bricks and marble were used in its construction.
  • Although the historic building has undergone some changes, it has largely preserved its original architectural characteristics.
  • Currently operating as İsmail Çile Special Education Practice School, the institution is also known in the history of the area as “Celaliye Primary School.”
