Changes After Construction
The building was constructed in 1904 by the Agios Tryphon Society as a Greek primary school.
Also known historically as Taş Mektep (Stone School), the building continued to be used for educational purposes as a Turkish school in 1923.
After remaining unused for a long period in the second half of the 20th century, it was restored in 2012 and took its present form.
Featured Highlights
French bricks and marble were used in its construction.
Although the historic building has undergone some changes, it has largely preserved its original architectural characteristics.
Currently operating as İsmail Çile Special Education Practice School, the institution is also known in the history of the area as “Celaliye Primary School.”
