Person in the Tomb

Kaab bin Malik’s father, Malik, was a prominent figure among the Aws and Khazraj tribes. His mother came from one of Medina’s respected families.

Kaab bin Malik received basic education in reading, writing, and arithmetic, and was especially known for his poetic talent. He gained attention through his poetry during the wars between the Aws and Khazraj.

Before embracing Islam, Kaab bin Malik was already a notable figure in Medina. After the Hijrah, he held a significant position within the Islamic community.

Although he did not participate in the Battle of Badr, he showed great bravery during the Battle of Uhud by wearing the Prophet’s armor.

He did not join the Tabuk Expedition in the 9th year of Hijrah and was boycotted for 50 days as a result. Following this, verses were revealed announcing that Allah had accepted his repentance. The Prophet Muhammad congratulated Kaab bin Malik, calling it the best day of his life since birth.

He is considered one of the three famous poets of the Prophet.
