Karabaş Mosque
Changes After Its Construction:
- It was restored by Fatih Municipality in 2018.
Prominent Features:
- It is a rectangular planned, wooden roofed and masonry building.
- It is also known as “Çukur Mescid” (Hollow Masjid).
- Its walls are built of brick and rubble stone.
- The narthex is under the main roof and the roof is covered with tiles.
- Its hipped roof is covered with tiles.
- Its single-balcony minaret was built in the lower eastern corner of the mosque.
- The mosque, built on a sloping land, is reached by stairs.
- It was revived after being on the list of lost mosques.
