Kartal Merkez Mosque
Changes After Its Construction:
- It burned in 1818 and was revived by Sultan Mahmud II.
- It burned down again in 1915 and was rebuilt with the money bequeathed by HacıAhmed Efendi.
Prominent Features:
- It is also known as “Sultan Mahmud Mosque” and “Hacı Ahmed Mosque”.
- The walls are made of masonry, and the roof is made of wood.
- It has a single minaret, and it is built of bricks.
- The mihrab is covered with tiles.
- The minbar and preacher’s pulpit are made of wood.
