Kaşgari Tomb
Abdullah Kaşgari

About: Abdullah Kaşgari was born in Kashgar and became known in Istanbul’s Eyüp district for his scholarship and Sufi teachings. He initially served at the lodge built by Bâlîzâde Abdülbâki Efendi and was later appointed as the sheikh of the Murteza Efendi Lodge, now known as the Kaşgari Dervish Lodge, established by Hacı Murtezâ Efendi of the Naqshbandi order. He trained students there for sixteen years and wrote “Risale-i Hakkıyye,” in which he described the manners of Sufism and his spiritual path. After his death, his son Ubeydullah Efendi served as sheikh for ten years and was buried beside him.
Ubeydullah Efendi
Birth / Death: 1725 – 1770
Title: Sheikh, Sufi
About: Ubeydullah Efendi was the son of Abdullah Kaşgari. He succeeded his father as the second sheikh of the Kaşgari Lodge. Ubeydullah Efendi served in this role for ten years and passed away in 1770 at the age of forty-five. He was buried beside his father in the tomb built within the lodge complex.
