- Changes the mosque has undergone since its construction
In 1586, a primary school was built upon the shrine by Ramazan Agha.
The stone basin in the courtyard was built by Yusuf Daniş Bey in 1865.
An extensive restoration was carried out in 2015 and it is currently active.
- Prominent features of the mosque
The mosque attracts attention with its minaret made of thin red bricks on its western facade, and because of this feature it was named “Red Mosque”.
The wooden minbar of the mosque was built by Feyzullah Nafiz Efendi’s wife, Hace Fatıma Hanım.
The tomb of the tiler Süleyman Çelebi is located in the direction of the mihrab of the mosque. A primary school was built upon his shrine in 1586.
Across the mosque is a fountain built by Sokullu Mehmed Pasha, and next to the fountain is the Afife Hatun Lodge.
There are historical graves around the mosque.
