The complex was damaged in the fire of 1782; there is a record of damage in the tomb section.
In the assessment dated 1869, the madrasa was in use.
The primary school attached to the complex was destroyed in the 1894 earthquake.
The complex was partially ruined in the Uzunçarşı fire of 23 July 1911.
In the assessment dated 3 January 1919, the madrasa was being used by fire victims.
A restoration was carried out between 1943 and 1950.
Today, the upper part of the madrasa courtyard is covered with a plaster ceiling and a lean-to roof; the ground is concrete.
The painted decorations at the center of the dome and on the skirt of the dome were renewed in 1995.

It is the madrasa unit of the Kuyucu Murat Pasha Complex; the complex consists of a madrasa, a classroom-masjid, a tomb, a sebil, a primary school, and shops.
It was arranged on a triangular plot within the group of small complexes centered on a madrasa.
The madrasa is entered through a low-arched door located among the shops on the facade.
The courtyard, which has an irregular rectangular plan, is enclosed in a “U” shape on three sides except for the entrance side by pointed-arched porticoes resting on marble columns with diamond-shaped capitals.
The madrasa has 14 rooms; the rooms are covered with domes and contain cupboard and fireplace niches.
On the southeast side of the courtyard stands the square-planned, domed classroom-masjid; the mihrab niche is shifted to the right of the axis.
There is no information indicating that there was a fountain in the middle of the courtyard.
