  • The building was opened for educational use in 1920 as Şaheste Kadın School.
  • The building was used in the following period with the function of Practical Girls’ Vocational School.
  • It was used as a Girls’ Vocational High School between 1980 and 1989.
  • In 1992, the roof underwent major repair and the 80-ton iron water tank on the roof was removed.
  • In 1994, the Public Education Centre moved into this building, and the building began to be used with this function.

  • The building is also known by the names Şaheste Kadın School, Maltepe First Primary School, Practical Girls’ Vocational School, and Maltepe Girls’ Vocational High School.
  • The building was defined as a masonry school; it has a three-level mass arrangement consisting of the ground floor and two upper floors.
