Changes After Construction:
  • In 1725, the building was rebuilt and given the name Surp Asdvadzadzin.
  • In 1726, the opening was carried out by Catholicos Garabed Ulnetzi.
  • In 1825, a new stone church was built in place of the wooden church.
  • The construction of the baptismal font was completed in 1824.
  • The building underwent repairs in 1843, 1881, 1925, 1964, and 1993.
  • After a long renovation process, it was reopened for worship in 2012.

  • The church belongs to the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey.
  • The building is known as the “Surp Asdvadzadzin Armenian Church”; in the earliest records, it appears under the name “Surp Giragos.”
