Mihrişah Valide Sultan Ottoman Primary School
Changes After Construction:
- About 30 years after its construction, the surroundings of the structure acquired the character of a cemetery.
- In the 1970s, the structure burned.
- In 1995, it was restored within the scope of the Eyüp Sultan Mosque and Surroundings Conservation Project.
- Today, the structure is used as the “Eyüp Sultan Youth Scout Group Clubhouse.”
Prominent Features:
- The structure is also known as the “Mihrişah Sultan Sıbyan Mektebi” (Primary School).
- The structure is the school unit of the Mihrişah Valide Sultan Complex.
- The structure has an “L”-shaped plan; it has a double-pitched roof and alternating masonry.
- There is no inscription on the arched entrance gate.
- The structure has wall masonry of cut stone with brick bands.
