The school began education in its current building in the 1957–1958 academic year under the name “Muallim Yahya Efendi Primary School.”
From the 1995–1996 academic year, the school was incorporated into “Yavuz Selim Primary School.”
After a long period of suspension, the school was reopened in the 2016–2017 academic year under the name “Muallim Yahya Primary School” by decision of the governor’s office.

The building is also known by the names “Fatih Numune School,” “Akşemseddin Numune School,” “Eleventh School,” “Yahya Efendi 2nd Primary School,” “Muallim Yahya Efendi 2nd Primary School,” “Tarık Us Primary School,” and “Muallim Yahya Efendi Primary School.”
The building is listed among historic structures in Istanbul used for educational purposes.
The building is organized with seven classrooms along with administrative and guidance units.
