Changes After Construction
It was demolished by the foundation in 1940 because of its dilapidated condition.
Attempts were made to rebuild it in 1987, but the work was not completed.
It was restored in 2008.
Today, only the base of the minaret made of cut stone and its land remain.

It is one of the rare mosques built by a female patron during the Ottoman period.
After its construction, it was repaired by Ahmed Çelebi Dede, so it is also known as the "Ahmed Dede Mosque" by the old inhabitants of the district. In a record in the Evkaf Book (the book where foundation records are kept), it is mentioned as "Ahmed Çelebi ibn Hamza Mosque in Otakçılar".
