Changes After Construction
It was first built as a church. It is estimated that the Greek community worshipped here.
It was converted into a mosque with the permission received from the Directorate General of Monuments in 1991. The church sections were adapted to the mosque structure, and the priest's section was converted into a preacher's pulpit.
With help, the ruined walls in the garden were repaired and some parts were rebuilt.
In 2006, the interior of the mosque and its minaret were renovated, some additions were made and painted.
The minaret was built by nearby factory owners and is constructed of reinforced concrete.

The building, which was built as a church, was converted into a mosque and its interior arrangements were made suitable for the mosque with the help of the congregation.
According to the carrier system report prepared by Prof. Dr. Feridun Çılı from Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture, reinforcement was made and cracks and separations were repaired with the injection method with original mortar.
The minaret was added later, independently of the mosque structure, and was constructed of reinforced concrete.
