Changes After Construction

  1. The building, constructed by the Ministry of Education in 1924, began education as a primary school with 125 students.

  2. The building, one of the first educational structures in Beykoz, was built as a three-storey structure.

  3. In 1997, the library located in the school garden was demolished and a reinforced-concrete annex with 12 classrooms was built in its place.

  • Constructed in the early Republican period in the Paşabahçe quarter of Beykoz, the building is among the distinctive examples with an asymmetrical façade composition within the school façades of the First National Architectural period.

  • Official records state that the architect of the Ministry of Education Construction Bureau, which commissioned the early Republican period schools, between 1923 and 1927 was Şemsettin Şeniz.
