Changes After Construction

  1. The school was founded in 1844, and the first school building was a wooden structure with three classrooms.

  2. A new school building was constructed in 1892 in place of the worn wooden structure.

  3. In the 2012–2013 academic year, because of the change in the education system, the institution’s name was adapted to the “primary school–secondary school” structure.

  4. Private Dadyan Armenian Schools moved to the new school building in the 2015–2016 academic year, and thus the old building, which had served for many years, became Private Kadro Anatolian High School.

Featured Highlights

  • The school, whose first name was Arzunyan School, was named Dadyan School in 1869 by Artin Dadyan after the death of his father Hovhannes Bey.

  • It is a long-established educational institution built together with Surp Asdvadzadzin Church in 1844 by the decree of Sultan Abdülmecid.

  • The school building dated 1892 is defined by interior elements carrying the civil architectural language of the period; the curved staircase leading to the upper floor, the stone steps, and the wooden door and window joinery are parts of this character.
