The institution, while it was Selimi Salis Boys’ Model School, continued as the 19th Primary School; because of need, the present three-storey building was constructed on the Tosun Pasha plot.
The name of the school became Selim III Primary School.
The school building underwent major repair; the electrical installation was renewed, doors and windows were replaced in accordance with the original, the heating system was converted to natural gas, the water tank and fire extinguishing system were renewed, and the roof was repaired.
After Selim III Primary School moved to its new building, the historic structure was allocated for temporary uses for a period; it continued education as Salacak Imam Hatip Secondary School.
Prominent Features:
The building is a three-storey school structure constructed with a reinforced concrete and masonry system in a ground–middle–upper floor arrangement.
It has approximate dimensions of 40 metres in length, 25 metres in width, and 12 metres in height.
There is a corridor layout on each floor; staircases are positioned at both ends of the corridors, and access to the spaces is provided along this axis.
On the main entrance axis, there is an approximately 150-square-metre octagonal hall in the central void of the building; the hall is defined by a wooden “English-type” roof structure.
