Its minbar was placed by Köse Bahir Pasha.
It was used as a place for sack repairs until 1950.
It was repaired and revived in 1973.
Featured Highlights
It is also known as “Saman Emini Mosque” or “Çukurçeşme Mosque”.
The mosque is built of two rows of bricks and one row of smooth, fine rubble stones.
Since the surrounding land is very steep, there is a basement under the prayer hall.
Its roof, minbar and narthex are made of wood.
It has a single-balcony and ornate minaret.
The minaret is located on the right corner of the stone building.
The base of the minaret is made of small carved stones and the body is made of bricks.
The surrounding wall starting from the minaret creates a harem courtyard, and the mosque level is reached by stairs.
The mihrab is made of plaster and painted with oil paint.
There are two rows of windows on the walls, one above the other.
The lower windows are rectangular, arched and made of marble; the upper ones are oval and have stained glass.
The grave of its founder, Sinan Efendi, is located in the mosque's graveyard.
