Hatice Sultan, whose exact dates of birth and death have not been determined, was the daughter of the Ottoman sultan Selim I and Ayşe Hafsa Sultan.

She was the sister of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, the tenth Ottoman sultan.

Around 1509, she married Damat İskender Pasha and was widowed after her husband was executed.

Although it was long believed that, after remaining widowed for many years, she married Grand Vizier Pargalı İbrahim Pasha, recent historians state that there is no reliable evidence for this marriage.

Some sources suggest that İbrahim Pasha was married to another woman named Muhsine Hatun.

Hatice Sultan’s life and marriages remain among the debated subjects of Ottoman historiography.

Hafize Hafsa Sultan was the daughter of the Ottoman sultan Selim I and the sister of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent.

In order to strengthen the political alliances of the dynasty, she was married to powerful statesmen of the period such as Fülan Ağa, Grand Vizier Dukakinzade Ahmed Pasha, and Çoban Mustafa Pasha. She died in Istanbul in 1538.

Murad, Mahmud, and Abdullah, sons of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent who died at a young age, passed away while they were still princes.
