The school began education in 1879 in Aksaray, on Sinekli Bakkal Street, under the name “Girls’ Industrial School”; it was later relocated to the Kırmızı Konak in Şehzadebaşı and, in 1913, to the Münir Paşa Mansion in Saraçhanebaşı.
In 1918, the school moved to the Selçuk Hatun High School building; in 1919, it was renamed “Selçuk Hatun Girls’ Industrial School.”
In 1922, the school relocated to its current building in Çapa, constructed on the site of the burned Derviş Paşa Mansion.
An additional building, constructed to meet increasing capacity needs, was put into service in the 1988–1989 academic year.
In the 2012–2013 academic year, the kindergarten was moved to the rear section of Block B; between July 2013 and January 2014, Block B underwent renovation within the scope of seismic strengthening.

The campus is defined by the existing building constructed in 1922 on the site of the Derviş Paşa Mansion.
The institution functions as a vocational and technical secondary education institution admitting only female students.
