Prominent Features:
  • Also known as the Şemsi Ahmed Pasha and Kuşkonmaz Mosque, this square-plan, single-domed, cut-stone structure attracts attention with its architectural features.
  • The minaret is built of cut stone and has a single balcony, and the balcony railings are decorated with marble grids.
  • Inside, the dome is decorated with multi-coloured hand-drawn work, while the mihrab is made of muqarnas marble.
  • The L-planned madrasah currently serves as a library, and the tomb of Şemsi Ahmed Pasha is adjacent to the mosque. Thanks to the discharge manhole, an original design by Mimar Sinan, the seawater leaking from the courtyard into the mosque is effectively discharged.
