Şeyh Abdülkadir Efendi was one of the imams of Sultan Ahmed I and was appointed to the position of Şeyhülkurrâ, which was established for the first time during the Ottoman period. Held in high regard during the reign of Sultan Ahmed, Abdülkadir Efendi was a prominent religious scholar and a leading figure among the Qur’an reciters (qurrā). He passed away in 1015 AH (1606 CE).

The tomb is constructed entirely of cut stone.
It has a single window with traditional iron grilles through which the sarcophagus can be seen.
In front of the tomb, there used to be a türbedar (tomb keeper) room, which has since been converted into a shop.
The tomb is modest but well-maintained, housing a single sarcophagus.
Along with its sebil (public fountain) and türbedar room, it reflects the characteristics of a waqf (endowment) structure.
