He was known as the spiritual guide and sheikh of the grooms and torchbearers. Revered as a saintly figure among the people, Şeyh Davut is said to have played a significant role in strengthening the spiritual identity of this military group. By founding a han (inn) bearing his name, he combined commercial activities with spiritual guidance.
